Features
Multicriterion Selection

Starting with a list of specifications, the system determines the element contained in the database which corresponds to the user query. The selected elements are ordered by relevance to user specifications, and can subsequently be analyzed by criterion.

Management of any type of data

Text fields, Boolean, simple numerical data, multi-variable functions, tables, lists, dates, or any type of document, image, video, or web pages, can be organized and stored in the system. The data can appear in the form of a table or a synthetic sheet.

Extraction

TEEXMA® offers the possibility of automatically generating customized technical documents. Using the data contained in the database, the system completes the templates, formatting them according to users needs. The validity of the information is guaranteed, less time is required, and the layout is automatic.

Calculation and simulation

Automatically perform calculations on data contained in the database in order to guarantee tracking and validity of results. Any numerical data stored in the TEEXMA® database can be processed in Excel or with any other calculation software. Once the operations have been performed, the results are automatically imported into TEEXMA®. This ensures that the database stays up-to-date and is constantly being enriched.

 
Workflow

Software Details

DMS (Document Management System)

Document management tools effectively treat and manage documents, however, they are not relevant when it comes to working on the data that is contained in these documents. Unstructured content (text, images, etc.) are well suited for the exercise, however, when it comes to the structuring of a technical heritage that consists primarily of data, a DMS is no longer suitable.
A document is essentially a vector of relevant communication. It allows for the formatting of information and data, in order to meet a need. By standard nature, the document will then enclose its information and data in the context of that need. However, the reuse of that data in another context will become rather difficult.
In particular, it is difficult to obtain a transverse level of readability of the data that is locked into different documents (for example, results of test campaigns). A DMS will not provide efficient navigation between objects of different types. However, many of them will require knowledge links to be established between the different objects within the same repository. The indexing by keyword feature that is typically available in a standard DMS, will only partially meet the objective of evaluating information in order to perform research. TEEXMA® take all of this into account and incorporates the classic features of a DMS, but it goes a step further and comes equipped with a more powerful system of searching features in order to take advantage of the relations that were created between objects, which will allow all of the attributes to be available in all methods of search.

ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)

Standard, recurring management issues that are treated with an ERP system are quite often far off base from the unique circumstances of research and development, which makes the construction of a personal technical repository with these types of tools a very difficult task. TEEXMA®, however, has the ability to establish an interface with the already existing ERP system, with each tool still having their own perimeters.
By default, ERP systems are intended to pursue current objectives and trace production related functions within a company. TEEXMA® has a specific vocation for valuing content in terms of memory (Feedback from Experience, aggregation of knowledge surrounding professional themes, cross data mining, etc.) in the most upstream business sectors such as R&D and product design.

LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)

Standard laboratory information management systems generally come with an accounting and organizational approach to laboratory testing and the subsequent results at the expense of exploitation for analysis and decision-based support. The ability to reuse experimental results that were acquired from laboratory testing is a core function of TEEXMA®, unlike most standard LIMS software which lacks the ability to treat this type of data. Additionally, the majority of LIMS software is designed under the specifications of medical or food industries, while TEEXMA® was specifically developed in the context of materials and industrial processes particularly in the nuclear, aerospace, chemistry, and automotive industries.

PDM (Product Data Management)

Typically editors of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions come from the world of CAD and depart in order to manage problems of versioning and traceability. Therefore, the scope of these applications rarely exceeds the studies of the research department or that of the management plans. As a result of this PLM is generally not equipped to formalize the technical knowledge that is not directly connected to the geometry of a part of its specification to the research department. When a company already has a PLM tool in place, TEEXMA® proves to be a strong complimentary solution as it focuses on structurally related data products such as know-how, design rules, processes, etc.
Within research departments, the entry point that is preferred by PLM applications is the product. All technical information without a process of conception and requiring a transverse level of readability is quite often out of the typical PLM parameters or is difficult to access. TEEXMA® also stands out due to it's ergonomic and its ease when it comes to scalability, which is often lacking in typical PLM and PDM applications. In order to have this same level of scalability specific parameterization is generally required which will certainly lead to many high costs in the various deployment phases.

Workflow

Workflow tools fulfil a function of structuring various business processes. This specific function is essential to the functioning of technical positions, providing that they are finished being moderated. TEEXMA® offers very flexible workflow capabilities, which can complement and enhance the features of the other tools that are in already in place.

CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

Typical assistance maintenance management systems are often specialized by type of application, industrial sector,, and by how it complements an ERP system for maintenance operations. TEEXMA® is capable of replacing a CMMS provided that its structure (which can be easily configured and adapted) is designed according to the specific needs of the client. The real advantage of TEEXMA® lies in its ability to be customized to meet the specific needs of a client.

Expert System & Artificial Intelligence

These systems are often complex in terms of usage and implementation. Their ambition to reproduce an expert's level of reasoning and to model their mechanisms are still poorly understood to this day.
The experience of BASSETTI has led TEEXMA® to become a system designed for experts rather than just an expert system. TEEXMA® places the expert in the centre of the usage and provides support for the decision-making tools, some of which may rely on artificial intelligence techniques.
